HOW DOES THIS WORK DEVELOP?
A video’s story is shaped by how the recorded material is selected and assembled. I build a sequence from the available footage, speech and publishing purpose. We review the material and intended scope before editing a longer narrative or a short promotional piece.
I review what the footage contains, the information in the interviews and any missing parts. Scripts or transcripts are considered alongside the recordings. We discuss the target duration in terms of the space required by each part of the story.
Interviews and documentary-style narratives need a coherent information sequence. I pair the relevant imagery with the story and develop the transitions and rhythm. For product or campaign content, the structure reflects what the viewer should see first and remember at the end.
THE IDEA TAKES SHAPE
From the first brief to the final delivery, every step follows the same visual direction.
Titles, subtitles and lower thirds are planned with the footage. I consider supplied audio and music within the rhythm of the sequence. Additional music selection, sound work and graphic production are scoped separately so the delivery expectations remain clear.
Creating short extracts or adapting a horizontal edit for a vertical screen can require new editorial choices. I review the opening, information sequence and framing for each version. Subtitles, closing screens and export settings are listed for the publishing platform.
Deliverables and file requirements are agreed individually for each brief.
We review footage, sound, scripts or transcripts and define the main edit and additional versions.
I select speech and imagery to create the initial narrative and we review its order and duration.
I develop pacing, transitions and graphic or sound placement using feedback tied to the sequence.
I complete the agreed versions, review the final sequence and export the delivery files.
